Requests you send us

When you send us a request, we process the details you provide in order to handle that request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for a contract or pre-contractual measure, otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

We expressly ask you not to include diagnoses, medical findings, case numbers or the names of children. For scheduling, the field and the occasion are sufficient.

Special categories of personal data

The occasion of an interpreting assignment can allow conclusions about health, ongoing proceedings or family circumstances. Such details belong to the special categories under Article 9 GDPR.

We collect them only insofar as you provide them yourself and they are necessary to carry out the assignment. Our interpreters are bound to confidentiality and conversations are not recorded.

Applications from interpreters

If you apply through the form on our page for interpreters, we process your details and any documents you upload in order to carry out the application procedure. The legal basis is Section 26(1) of the German Federal Data Protection Act in conjunction with Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Uploaded files are stored on a server in Germany, outside the publicly reachable area of the website. They are not sent by email and not passed on to third parties.

We delete application documents no later than six months after the procedure ends. That period follows from the two-month limitation period in Section 15(4) of the German General Equal Treatment Act plus processing time. If a contract is concluded, the documents move into the personnel file.

We deliberately do not ask about nationality or residence status during the application, only whether you are permitted to work in Germany. We do not accept an extended certificate of good conduct as an upload, we only inspect it before your first assignment and record the date and outcome.

Retention

We delete request data as soon as it is no longer needed for handling the request, unless commercial or tax retention periods apply.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Consent you have given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for Hamburg the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
